Angelica Privalihin, Russian painter. Born in 1970 in the small village of Uzlovaya, located in the Tula region of Russia. She attended the Krasnoyarsk Special School for Children’s Art Geniuses in Siberia. The school focused on teaching students how to observe the beauty of the world and how to depict this beauty through their own feelings and vision, rather than simple realistic techniques.
Angelica graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Art Academy in 1990 and took a teaching position at the local art museum as an assistant curator. Between 1995 and 2000, she had a course called “Art: The Beginning”, which was published as a monograph by the State Education Committee and became the basis for art learning in Siberian primary schools.
Angelica Privalihin was born into a family with a deep appreciation for the arts. From an early age, she was surrounded by creative influences that sparked her passion for painting. In terms of her painting technique, Privalihin is known for her masterful use of color blending. She often uses broad strokes to establish the overall composition and then switches to finer, more detailed strokes to add intricate details and textures. For example, when painting landscapes, she uses a combination of thick impasto for the foreground elements like rocks and foliage to give them a tangible presence, and thin, smooth strokes for the distant sky and mountains to create an illusion of distance.
Angelica Privalihin’s contributions to the art world are extensive. Her works have been featured in numerous international art exhibitions, bringing attention to her unique style and inspiring other artists to push the boundaries of their own creativity. She has actively participated in art residencies and workshops, sharing her knowledge and experiences with emerging painters. Through her art, she has also contributed to cultural exchanges, as her paintings often incorporate elements from different cultures and traditions, thereby promoting cross-cultural understanding. Moreover, her pieces have found their way into many private and public collections, enriching the art landscape and serving as a source of inspiration for generations to come. In essence, Angelica Privalihin’s artistry and dedication have made her a significant and influential force in the domain of oil painting.
