Antonio Lopez-Garcia, a contemporary Spanish artist: Antonio Lopez-Garcia was born in a peasant family in Spain in 1936. At the age of 13, Lopez went to Madrid to study painting alone. The following year, he was admitted to the San Fernando Higher School of Fine Arts (now known as the Madrid Academy of Fine Arts). He taught at his alma mater from 1964 to 1969.
